The INB was in New York City to impede
the Republican National Convention, marched with nearly a million people,
played a lot of gigs, took to the streets, and eventually landed in jail.
After getting out and reclaiming their equipment the group had 24 hours
to play a few more live sets and track this record.
Recorded with the Inphase
Mobile Studio at the Flux Factory in scenic Queens.
L'étincelle has prominent horn and
vocal parts over a slowish dancehall-marching band beat.
Manguera means "hose," it is
also nearly the same spelling of a favela in Rio de Janeiro whose escola
de samba partially inspired this track.
